DMAIC Model

This lesson is an introduction to the DMAIC model, in which you will learn about the DMAIC model and what it means. You also will remember what a process is, and what Six Sigma is. 

This session is devoted to the first phase of the DMAIC model. You will learn what to pay attention to when starting a project. The issues covered in this part of the course are: the expected outcome of the definition phase, the aim of the project, team selection, project card, and process map design. 

This part of the course discusses in detail the second phase of the DMAIC model: measurement. You will learn what to do and what to focus on in this phase of the project. 

In this session you will learn more about the third phase in the DMAIC model: analysis. This part of the course deals with issues such as factors influencing the process and their relations, data and process analysis, process effectiveness, and efficiency and analysis of sources of variability.

This lesson is devoted to the fourth phase of DMAIC: improvement. In it you will learn what tools you can use to choose the best solutions. You will also learn why it is so important to implement a pilot and how to justify the chosen solution to make it convincing and understandable for both production staff and management. 

In this session you will learn how important it is to monitor the process and the changes made to it. You will also learn about the control and documentation plan in a project and its use after its completion, as well as what actions should be taken when closing a project.

"Theory is just one thing, but how does it look in practice?" In this lesson, you will learn how Six Sigma projects can be conducted in the service industry. The trainer will walk you through various real-life examples. He will also present the implementation of a project in accordance with the DMAIC model and discuss the team"s activities in each of these phases.

In this episode, your understanding of the DMAIC path will be summarized and tested. You will learn how tools like Project Charter and PMAP and VOC - CTQ relations are employed. You will also see how control charts are used, and how control plans are made bullet-proof.
